I see that this feature will be backported to older PHP 5 and even to PHP 4 used by linux/bsd distributions, because it is a required security
BTW: I plan to merge it in 4.4 tree, but since there's no 4.4 release planned soon AFAIK I want to hold for a bit to see if 5.2 testing produces any issues since we're having 5.2.4 release cycle now.
