So here's my offer: if two core committers, or even just one, were willing to champion this feature, I will take full responsibility for
"if" is redundant here - at least three core committers are already for this feature. In any case, not rehashing all the past arguments and their validity, maintenance argument would be in this particular case pure BS - there's not even slightest shadow of doubt that if such feature would be introduced, its support from any core developers point of view would be exactly as any other syntax.
