I'm being dragged screaming into using PDO but I'm having major problems
since a number of fixes that have been applied to the firebird driver
have only been done to PHP5.3 branch ( back in 2007! )
Fedora does not have 5.3 deployed yet, and it will cause a lot more
problems anyway, since we will be forced to address the 5.3 changes when
the original 5.2 based code is already broken. So is there ANY way of
getting the fixes back ported to the 5.2 branch?
The first hurdle is http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=35386 which stops
many of the core SQL working in phpgedview - which has had all of the
older PEAR/ADOdb code stripped and so now will only work with PDO :(
