I think it cannot really hurt. Ideally whatever you are summarizing should be supported by links to
news.php.net. Also try to keep the relevant people in the loop as you are summarizing them. In
order to get a wiki account just follow the "register" link on the "login" page.
Also it would be useful to know where Unicode can and can't be used currently in
PHP5? A number of the problems I thought were waiting on PHP6 seem already to
have been addressed in PHP5. Such as using unicode for variable names?
