The description on https://wiki.php.net/rfc even uses "annotation" to explain what "PHP Attributes" is, so I think "annotation"is the right naming choice. PHP Attributes > Native support for annotation (Discussion began 2016-04-22) Annotation is well known and unambiguous. Regards, Niklas.
