Title: Oracle / Peoplesoft Database Admin
Location: Austin, TX
Duration: 6 + months

These positions will design, develop, implement and administer Oracle
databases for the PeopleSoft Enterprise application information
systems.  Selected persons will be responsible for providing operating
success and performance, as well as provide technical expertise and
support to the PS/Oracle ERP infrastructure and Application
databases.  Successful applicant(s) will manage and monitor databases
and associated technologies, provide input into the evaluation and
recommendation of strategies, technologies and standards for all
related infrastructures.
The Database Administrator will also be responsible for database
tuning and database problem resolution as necessary.   Additionally,
successful applicant(s) will proactively monitor Oracle patches, fixes
and other relative Oracle applicable research.
Services could include involvement during routine maintenance windows,
which usually involve weekends and evenings.

WORKER DUTIES

A.      Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with
a degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or
related field.
B.      Create and maintain Oracle databases for use in the PeopleSoft
application.  This includes, but is not limited to, maintenance,
development, acceptance, test and production environments.
C.      Previous experience maintaining PeopleSoft Oracle databases.
D.      Previous experience in testing and implementing software related to
the administration, monitoring and operation of Oracle databases.
E.      Diagnose and resolve production and non-production database
problems related to PeopleSoft databases.
F.      Perform rotating on-call duties related to database support (24 x
7).
G.      Participate in Disaster Recovery processes/tests as required.
H.      Communicate effectively and correctly in writing and verbally on a
variety of business matters.
I.      Perform related Oracle DBA work as assigned.
J.      Must follow agency database standards and guidelines.

II.     WORKER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements:

Years           Skills/Experience
8               Oracle database administration to include Oracle 10g and 11g
(Oracle OCP/OCM certification a plus)
6               PeopleSoft database administration, including PeopleCode, Data
Mover Scripts and Application
4               PeopleSoft HR and/or Financials experience
4               PeopleSoft experience with implementations, installations and/or
upgrades
4               Ability to interact and communicate well with functional team 
leads
and agency personnel
4               Designer SQL and shell script development
4                Knowledge of software development methodologies, design and
implementations

Preferences:
Years   Skills/Experience
5               Strong interpersonal skill and the ability to collaborate
effectively on diverse teams (e.g., portfolio/project managers, domain
experts, users, and software engineering team) to design and deploy
business information systems across the enterprise.
5       Understanding of computer related tools, methods, platforms and
operating systems.
5       Good teamwork skills, ability to collaborate with other technical
staff on the project.
3       A proven ability to work effectively across multiple groups and
functional areas (including working w/subject-matter-experts,
leveraging resources), where security processes are concerned.
3       Public sector experience (Federal, State or Local Government).
2       Experience with Symantec Netbackup software.
2       Experience with Oracle Real Application Cluster environments
