QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- 7+ years experience developing websites for business purposes. Expertise launching successful projects to large-scale, high-volume websites is required.
- Strong PHP Web application development and support experience, including planning for load, QA and database interaction. Drupal development experience important.
- Thorough understanding of the web and web browsers, their capabilities and their limitations.
- Thorough knowledge of HTML, CSS, AJAX, _javascript_, PHP, Perl, XML/XSLT and Java Server Pages.
- Experience in Unix command line required. Strong skills required in critical thinking and analysis.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Candidate must show an aptitude for detail.
- They should display leadership skills such as taking proper responsibility, pursuing solutions to problems, displaying resourcefulness towards accomplishing given task or goals. T
- hey must exhibit an ability to focus on mundane functions of their job, as well as being self-motivated to learn new skills in order to accomplish new tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
- Advanced knowledge of Drupal core modules, custom module development and theming.
- Experience with scaling Drupal for high traffic.
- Development experience with content management systems, content automation and source control. Must have proven experience leading teams of other developers on successful high-profile, high-visibility web projects.
- Candidates must demonstrate a thorough understanding of modern web trends and technologies, design patterns and methodologies.
DUTIES:
- Works as project team lead to develop and implement web projects for our clients associated websites.
- Web development tasks include coding, testing, debugging, documenting, peer-reviewing, deploying, monitoring, and support.
- All tasks are performed in accordance with industry best practices and specific internal procedures and standards. Assumes "Tech Lead" role on projects for which he/she is not an active developer by providing architecture recommendations, guidance and communication.
- Participates in workflow design and analyzes existing production and implementation processes in order to ensure the overall quality of the sites.
- Consistently meet or exceed deadlines on projects.
- Assist in maintaining operational queue.
- Contributes to task identification, work effort estimates, and work schedules for development and maintenance activities.
- Participates in the analysis, definition, and scoping of efficient, cost effective application solutions. Mentors Web Developers on technical issues and best practices. Demonstrates ability to balance own technical work with mentoring role. Works with internal departments to provide associated deliverables required for the successful completion of development and maintenance assignments (e.g. business development, database development, web designers, end-user training). Researches new technologies; provide ideas for technical or workflow / process improvements. Provides on-call support as assigned.
