*Columbus, OH* *6 month contract* *$50/hr* * * *Description:* -Actively participate in requirements gathering and design processes that result in functional and technical application specifications. -Work closely with modeling and ETL Team Members to obtain data needed to fulfill project requirements. -Generate efficient and consistent code that meets provided technical specifications and end-user requirements while adhering to specified standards and conventions. -Assist in the creation of unit, function, and performance test scripts to verify application quality and performance, and ensure fulfillment of requirements. -Document application design specifications and implementation procedures to improve application quality and reuse of code. -Coordinates implementation of all application enhancements and additions. -Provide guidance and training to Power Users to empower them to support various business units with little to no IT intervention. -Performs other duties as assigned. *Requirements:* -Bachelor's degree in MIS, CIS, computer/electrical engineering, or related field required. -8+ years related experience required. -Evaluates business requirements and processes to provide possible solutions and accurate estimates for development efforts. -Experience in *designing and developing reports in Cognos 8/10 using Framework Manager and Report Studio*. -Experience in *designing and developing cube models using Cognos Transformer*. - Experience in *creating cube views using Analysis studio*. -*Knowledge of Cognos administration/security is a plus*. -Experience working in *AIX environment* and the ability to *write shell scripts* is a plus. -Solid understanding and experience with SQL and Oracle. Must be able to troubleshoot Cognos generated SQL and write SQL to test data. -Solid Understanding of software development life-cycle, implementation methodologies, and development tools. -Must be a quick learner with strong communication and analytical skills. -Ability to maintain effective work relationships with associates and job contacts, train and coach others in computer applications, work independently, and exhibit logical thought processes with close attention to detail. -Work with production control staff in scheduling and monitoring Cognos jobs and provide on-call support if necessary.
