Resource will: • Provide consulting/SME services for capacity planning and performance planning Validate the target sizing for WebLogic Servers /Tuxedo Servers (PeopleSoft refers to these as 'Application Servers') DataBase Servers (the OracleDB/RAC environment) • Identify solutions to Db2 to Oracle differences/issues. Note: This the analysis of 'how we do $X in PSFT/DB2 vs. how we can do $X in PSFT/OraDB'. This means we need the fact-gathering of OLTP, Batch, Interfaces/Integrations, Availability, RPO/RTO & DR then map those to 'how to' in the new Stack. • Provide consulting/SME services for mid-range Job Management Assist in defining load-patterns for batch jobs (all work that is not OLTP) with the new Stack. E.g. many MF jobs that source/target data between Lawson & PSFT will no longer run self-contained in the MF. What does that mean for: o Where will each job run? o Will there be independent jobs with cross-dependency? o One job that has adaptations into the physically different OracleDB's (with a transitory dual adaptation to MF/DB2)? o Batch runtime engine sizing (DataStage? Java/Batch? PSFT/Batch? combinations?) o Complexity of ESP scheduling/running? o ESP + PSFT's Job-Scheduler/Manager? o What are Oracle's Best Practices for the above? • Assist in developing the DB migration strategy • This is a BIG effort, includes App & TSG. An Oracle consultant will provide consulting/SME services for fine grained tuning of net-new stack • Provide consulting/SME and support services for application migration (from AIX to Linux) and database/data migration, through multiple conversions and go-live practice/test runs • Identify database and data migration tool that we could use (e.g. CDC, PS data mover, etc) and trained on how to use it.
