Project Details - Job Summary:
- Provides SAS programming and analytic support for department specific research project(s).
- Constructs, manages and documents complicated data files for research projects; conducts statistical analysis; reviews statistical output; interprets and explains results; and, provides input to study reports and abstracts/manuscripts while ensuring effectiveness and accuracy.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Using SAS and other relevant statistical software, creates analytic files by merging multiple, large databases including survey and administrative data, formatting, recoding and sub-setting data to meet the analytic goals.
- Perform high level statistical analysis using SAS and other related statistical software and ensures the integrity of all data files, statistical output and reported findings.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining organization of all data files and archiving and data storage for straightforward retrieval of research data.
- Provide statistical assistance and programming consultation to other Research Staff such as Faculty, Research Fellows or Research Students within the Division or outside collaborators at the discretion of the Principal Investigator. The amount of this work will vary based on the research project.
- Learn and apply new statistical and data management software systems and skills when necessary.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required in related field of statistics, computer science or public health. Master's degree preferred in health related field.
- 3-5 years related work experience required.
- Understanding of statistical concepts and SAS procedures; familiarity with epidemiological and quality assurance principles; and, prior research experience.
- Proficiency in writing and editing complex SAS programs and using SAS statistical analysis procedures with a minimum of 2 years experience
- Advanced technical computer skills as required for technical support specific to functional area and related systems.
