Title:PL/SQL Developer with schell script //Development analyst

Design, develop, maintain, make enhancements, and support existing MDMS
application which was built for a client. Off-hour production support
during weekday evenings and weekends is essential.



Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

•           Understand and master the functionality of the existing MDMS
application which includes Oracle PL/SQL program units, Unix scripts, and
.NET reports.

•           Understand and master the core business functionality of the
MDMS applications.

•           Provide production support of batch processes during the day
from 6a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and weekends. This includes the following:

o          Monitoring of the batch processes

o          Trouble-shoot and address job failures as soon as possible

o          Interact with ControlM group on re-run/re-start instructions of
ControlM jobs

o          Troubleshoot and fix production issues reported by client
immediately

o          Escalate issues with missing data to the client immediately

o          Satisfy ad-hoc requests from client

•           Design and develop efficient Oracle PL/SQL application code and
Unix shell scripts as required. Documentation at every level of coding is
required.

•           Develop new and enhanced system functionality including custom
code and packaged application configuration.

•           Ensure application meets requirements by doing complete system
testing, performance testing, regression testing, and integration testing.

•           Regularly report status and raise issues/risks as appropriate.

•           Pro-active in identifying application related issues and
resolving them efficiently

•           Develop strong working relationships with individuals at all
levels of company, operations, and IT applications and infrastructure teams.

•           Remain abreast of current technologies and best practices that
may be applicable to application.



Education:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant
business discipline from an accredited four-year college or university or
equivalent work experience.





Experience:

IT experience including

- 12+ years of experience in Software development

- 7+ years of experience in Oracle 10g or 11g

- 7+ years of experience in Oracle PL/SQL development

- 5+ years of experience in Unix shell script development

- 5+ years of experience in a Data Warehouse environment

- 2+ years of development work in a de-regulated utilities business in
Texas is a plus

•           Excellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skills

•           Strong analytical skills

•           Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
in order to provide appropriate cross functional support and interaction.

•           Works effectively in a team environment

•           Ability to work well under pressure, remaining focused and calm
in the face of distractions, changing priorities in a fast-paced
environment.

•           Flexibility, dedication, and team-spirit is a must
