*Role: Oracle DBA Location: Cary, NC Job Type: Contractual/Temporary Duration: 6 months Interview Mode: Phone/Skype* *JOB DESCRIPTION:* · 8+ years of ORACLE DBA experience with knowledge on SQL server · Primary Skill – ORACLE 9i, 10g & 11g · Secondary – SQL Server 2005, 2008 R2 & 2012 *Technical - Desired* · Good knowledge of ORACLE database architecture – 9i, 10g & 11g. · Preferably worked on Sun Solaris, Linux & Windows platform. · Basic Unix commands and shell script knowledge. · RMAN backup & recovery. · Database restore & refresh using RMAN, export / import, Data pumps. · Database administration, space management & housekeeping. · Database cloning, installation, upgrade, migration, patching, etc. · Performance management, SQL tuning, AWR / Statspack, Instance tuning, etc. · Knowledge of O/S cluster, veritas cluster or any other third party cluster. · Basic knowledge of SQL Server – check database availability, file system & tablespace monitoring, SQL services, etc. *Technical - Optional* · High Availability & Disaster recovery – RAC, ASM, Dataguard, etc. · Replication – Golden gate, shareplex or any other replication tools. · OEM Grid control – 11g or 12c. · SQL Server replication, High availability & Disaster recovery. · SQL Server backup, recovery, database refresh, cloning, upgrade & patching. *Process & management - Desired* · Good communication skills. · Sound knowledge of ITIL processes – Incident management, Change management, Problem management & release management. · Ability to work independently and able to manage complex database projects from start to finish · Manage offshore team of 10 – 15 DBAs (ORACLE & SQL Server) · Flexible working hours. · Can interact with customer and handle escalations. · Ability to work cohesively in a team and with different functional groups and clients.
