*214-541-9047 Position: Java Architect Location: Chicago, IL Duration: 6+ months* *Our Health care client in downtown Chicago seeks a JAVA Architect with strong integration design experience for a long term contract opportunity.* *Roles & Responsibilities* **Working experience as an architect and technical lead in development of Java EE, EJB, JSP, Spring, Struts components and SOAP and REST services. * **Ability to provide technical guidance and expert opinion for development teams on the choice of tools and frameworks. * Includes prototypes when necessary, and participation in code reviews. Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly. *Analysis of system components performance and provision of solutions to performance problems. Experience with solutions based on J2EE application servers such as WebSphere. *Three years minimum experience working as a Solution Architect in providing custom solutions to business problems. *Translate business requirements into the technical solutions, architecture and components. *Experience in building solutions using synchronous and asynchronous messaging, JMS and IBM MQ. *Knowledge of SOA Platforms and SOA Governance. **Experience with architecture and design of mediation layer components including ESB and API Portals. Knowledge of Intel ESG and Mashery is a plus.* **Expertise in design of SOAP and REST web services, WSDL, XML schemas and JSON format.* *Hands on experience in design of XML schemas and development of XSLT transformations. *Development of solutions for web applications and web services security and risks remediation. Knowledge of security protocols and standards such as SSL, WS-Security and OAuth. Using security frameworks like ESAPI is a plus. *Knowledge of open source search and analytics engines like Lucene/SOLR or Elastic Search. *Ability to develop the approach to systems disaster recovery, high-availability and failover. *Experience with Scrum methodology and Agile Process, ability to act as a Scrum Master. *Experience with JIRA and Greenhopper plugin is a plus. *Knowledge of cost estimation techniques and ability to provide conceptual and more detailed level of estimations for a project. *Solid experience working with GoF design patterns. Ability to follow and enforce best practices in UML design on the system and component level, usage of Sparx Enterprise Architect *Preferred Skills:* *Healthcare industry experience preferred.
