As a member of the Big Data Platforms team, you will be managing* petabyte scale Hadoop clusters*. You will also have exposure to Greenplum database, MongoDB and related technologies. You are expected to gain a deep understanding of a specific area of the Hadoop stack such as *HDFS, Java, JVM, MapReduce, HBase*, Hive, Pig, etc. You will work with the Apache Hadoop community to innovate and enhance a specific area of the Hadoop software ecosystem. You will incorporate the requirements of customers to improve Hadoop for large enterprise environment. You are expected to work in a very dynamic environment. *Duties:* • Knowledge of distributed computing and parallel programming. Experience with Hadoop strongly desired. • Availability and performance of* Hadoop infrastructure.* • HDFS support and Maintenance • Cluster Monitoring and *Troubleshooting* • Manage and review *Hadoop, Greenplum* logs. • Manage and review Backups. • Support and troubleshoot BI issues associated with Hadoop. • Work with infrastructure teams to install, upgrade and patches as required. • Work with data warehouse, security, network and storage teams to implement and troubleshoot. • Design, implement and maintains security at Hadoop and database level. *Qualifications:* • *Minimum 3-4 years experience. Good Linux knowledge, understanding of shell, debugging performance issues etc.* • Experience developing large-scale system software. • Good verbal and written communication skills / Strong teamwork skills / Client relationship skills • Deep knowledge on at least one of the* RDBMS engines ie PostGreSQL, MSSQL* • Virtualization technology experience • Structured design, coding, and testing experience • Experience implementing data warehouses • Experience in *Java, JVM and Linux environment.
