*Position:: ETL Lead Developer*
*Location:: Richmond, VA*

*Technical/Functional Skills : *
• Minimum 8-10 years of industry experience with an emphasis
on Database design and dimensional modeling for business intelligence /
data warehousing solutions in the insurance services industry.
• Must have multiple full lifecycle project experience as a
developer and architect in designing and developing Operational Data
Stores, Data Warehouses and Data Marts.
• Deep understanding of DW appliances, Hadoop, Oracle
Database SQL and PL/SQL concepts, unix shell scripting, standards and best
practices
• Should have expertise in developing and deploying industry
standard data models for insurance industry
• Strong database development, physical database design and
data modeling experience
• Measurement of DBMS performance and tuning; diagnosis of
problems.
• Good past experience with Power center Informatica ETL tool
• Develop reporting marts, experience with reporting tools
preferred
*Roles & Responsibilities : *
• Capture new requirements for ODS/DW or changed requirements
determine the level of effort to implement changes and additions to ODS/DW
• Analyze legacy code and existing macros/scripts and
transform them to requirements and design documents
• Develop/Modify the Database design, dimensional model, DDL
for database creation on appliances and manage database creation activities
from inception to completion including interdependencies with
other teams.
• Conversant with loading Hadoop staging and DW and Data marts
hosted in DW appliances
• Analyze requirements and formulate an appropriate technical
solution that meets functional and non-functional requirements;
• Take an active role in the cross-functional design and
coordinate with ETL team throughout
• Work closely and foster strong relationships with data
architecture team, database administration and data consumers (e.g.,
reporting and interfaces teams) to design warehouse/BI data structures
• Assist in the design of the ETL solution; review the ETL
low-level design and design phase deliverables; ensure that the database
design conforms to the overall ETL/Informatica /PL/SQL/ architecture
• Manage the build phase and quality-assure the code to ensure
that it meets requirements and adheres to standards; resolve difficult
design and build issues; troubleshoot bugs
• Plan and execute Quality Assurance testing with the QA team
and resolve QA defects
• Plan and manage QA and Production releases and ensure they
are deployed smoothly
