Most issues relating to test setup, tools, equipment, facilities, and translations have to be resolved by the QA Consultant working independently. • The person is very flexible and is able to quickly adjust course in response to unexpected events or change in priorities. • The person enjoys working in a time critical environment and looks at issues as opportunities to add value for the customer, to improve product quality and to learn and grow personally and professionally. • The person is able to take direction from Deployment managers, QA leads and effectively perform his/her functions while at the same time supporting project development. • Is located in or near Austin Texas. • The engineer is able to understand the needs of the customer and the intent of the SOW and add value to the customer instead of being limited by the SOW. Knowledge, Experience, Education & Competency: Protocols: • In-depth knowledge of Home Device Manager, Service View, Service Activation Manager, Self Support Manager, and test tools used by Motive QA Consultants. • Experience with Ghost and reimaging hardware to support testing environments. • Thorough understanding of TeamTrack and issue processing practices. • Experience in lab environments and demonstrated ability to bring up platforms, test base and new functionality, and troubleshoot issues on a short fuse to meet customer test schedules. • Experience with DSL, VDSL devices and the TR69 standards associated with those devices. • Experience testing on all Windows and Mac platforms. Some specific functions include: • Software Installation of Email clients, browsers, and other specified software. • Performing functional, system, fix and regression testing • Reimaging test machines to match requested configurations. • Manual setup of DSL, VDSL, DHCP devices to support testing. • Troubleshooting and expeditious resolution of network/test environment issues. • Perform Hardware/Platform Testing • Other Testing as determined by test plans • Provide customer support during UAT and coordinated testing phases Attend status meetings, provide reports as needed.
