Our client, a major global investment bank is looking for a Windows Systems Administrator / Consultant to provide support of their Windows platform. This includes all aspects of the Server platform life cycle from procurement, to build, to configuration, administration through to the operating system's retirement. This candidate will manage all these aspects of the life cycle. *THE DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES :-* The candidate will serve as point person for the firm's Windows 2003 obsolescence project. This includes builds, configurations and implementations of migrated servers from the obsolete Windows 2003 operating system. * Work with team that builds and supports the Windows Platform estate and the application teams to configure/optimize applications to new servers (Windows 2008/2012). * Maintain the highest level of expertise in designated products and components of the Windows Platform as Windows 2003 servers are retired. * Troubleshooting/Support and Advanced Analysis of requests within the Windows Platform. * Support other Windows Core Services as part of the global team. * Implement engineered solutions to improve efficiency and stability of the Windows Platform. * Provide documentation for 1st line Operations Control run books. * Create/update environment documentation and change management. * Automate systems, processes, and continuously reviewing to improve stability and speed. *WHAT GETS YOU THE JOB :-* • 5+ years in a mid-to-large environment of Active Directory management and related services (group Policy, DNS, DHCP, etc.). • Demonstrate enterprise skills in technologies o Windows 2012/ 2008/ 2003/ 7 / XP o VMWare 5x o SCCM • Experience with large-scale AD and server management and deployment • Have worked with Enterprise Level network and storage technology (FC SAN, 10Gb, etc.). • Solid scripting ability (PowerShell, VBScript plus WMI extensions). • Strong attention to details with ability to troubleshoot issues and provide resolution • Demonstrates constant considerations of risks and impacts especially with regards to changes such as security patching (i.e., change management.) • Project management, organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and manage multiple concurrent projects • Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must. *Technologies Covered (but not limited to) :-* • Windows technologies and Design (VM Ware IIS, Windows clusters,) • Citrix Xen-app • Networks, Firewalls • Directories • Client/Server systems • Authentication methods (RSA SecurID, LDAP) • Experience configuring and managing HP Blade Chassis, servers & interconnects *Desirable :-* • Knowledge in Information Security • Investment Banking experience desirable but not essential. • Knowledge of any of the other Core Services product • consultant will be required to work some weekends as per schedule application migration.
