*QA Engineer with Jira and Selenium experience local to the Houston , Tx* *Phone then F2F* *6 month plus contract, * Execute manual and automated testing of our software, both internal tools and customer facing web sites/platforms. - Do thorough cross browser testing of both new features to determine whether they are ready for deployment, and across whole systems to find any regressions. - Ensure that validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements. - File tickets in Jira for valid bug reports. - Work closely with both the Engineering and IT departments to ensure timely resolution of issues. - Work in a fast paced Agile development environment. - Assist with constantly reviewing and evolving processes. - Show flexibility and understanding to occasionally work within tight deadlines - Work with product managers to help create acceptance tests as part of requirements gathering for new features/products. - Help write documentation for our software tools. - Help develop and write test plans for new features/products. - Write scripts to do automated testing of our software using software like Selenium. Required Qualifications: - High level of technical proficiency, especially in use of web based software. - Experience writing test plans from the requirements, specifications and test strategies - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Strong analytical skills. Extreme attention to detail. - Ability to think abstractly, thinking outside the box to find edge case bugs that might not normally get caught. - Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Preferred: - Experience using Jira and Confluence.
