Position : *Database Administrator * Location : *Austin, TX* Duration : *6 Months (Locals & GC,USC Preferable)* *In your role, you will:* - In conjunction with IQ’s Senior Oracle DBA, the Worker will work to research, evaluate, plan, design, and document all aspects of Institutional Data Store database platforms with critical uptime requirements. - Manage large scale, complex IT and database projects, assuming full technical responsibility and leadership for one or more projects. - The Worker will install, configure, backup, replicate, and maintain Oracle RAC database software components and services. - Handle administration, troubleshooting and configuration of Oracle Database backups using Grid Control and RMAN. Utilize tools and Utilities to monitor performance and space requirement considerations. - Perform capacity monitoring and short and long-term capacity planning in collaboration with development resources, system administrators and system architects. - The Worker will write complex stored procedures, functions and packages. - Perform database logical design, physical design and data modeling. - Partner with software application development groups to provide database setup, optimization, and modification support. - The Worker will be responsible for the development of project charters, timelines, technical deliverable s, resource allocation, and timely completion of project milestones. - Communicate information and issues clearly and succinctly with both technical and non-technical personnel. - Lead and compose communications for database events and procedures. *As our ideal candidate, you will meet the following requirements:* - 9 Years Extensive experience in administering production Oracle database (DB) design/architecture, data modeling, security, performance, scalability, and tuning for Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence platforms. - 8 Years- Demonstrated experience leading efficiency improvements and implementation of DB policies and procedures. - 9 Years -Proven experience in Oracle RAC, ASM, RMAN, Grid Control, data pump, Data Guard, Standby databases for versions 11G and 12C. - 8 Years’ Experience in identification, design and implementation of process automation with scripting tools such as Perl / Bash Scripting. - 8 Years - Proven record of successful design and implementation and support of High Availability Configurations including RAC and Dataguard. - 8 Years’ Experience implementing patching and bug fixes for clustering and standalone databases. - Strong Demonstrated ability to perform database patches and upgrades. - Strong Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new tools, technologies and environments. - Strong Provide timely and responsive customer production and developer support. - Strong Proactively collaborate with team members to design and implement elegant technical solutions. - Degree Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. *Preferences:* - 3 Years - Project management skills and ability to lead large, complex technical projects. - 3 Years’ Experience with Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) and Business Intelligence tools including IBM Datastage/Informatica and/or OBIEE, IBM/Cognos. - 3 Years’ Experience working in higher education. - *Certified Oracle Certified Professional DBA certification. * - Required Ability to participate in 24/7 rotating on-call schedule.
