*Position:: Data Architect* *Location:: Charlotte, NC* *Duration:: 17+ months* *Role Description * · 10+ years overall experience working on software development projects preferably with an emphasis on data warehouse / business intelligence projects · 7+ years of experience in data modeling in a Volume intensive data warehouse environment preferably in the financial industry · 7+ years of experience with data modelling tools preferably Power Designer or comparable tool sets. · Demonstrated experience in creating conceptual, logical and physical data models using best practices to ensure high data quality and reduced data redundancy. · Knowledgeable in Third Normal Form, star/snow flake schema designs, design key and indexing schemes, and design partitioning and summarization strategies. · Demonstrated experience in data architecture/data modelling for DW software development and Business Intelligence solutions. · Strong experience in all aspects of designing data warehouses, operational data stores and data marts. · Demonstrated skills in analyzing data related system integration challenges and propose appropriate solutions. · Ability to recognize and influence upstream and downstream impacts of logic and system design changes. · Minimum of 7+ years of experience in Teradata, Oracle, SQL server · Expert in SQL · Possess strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to work with end-users, IT and non-IT team members. · Financial services Experience preferably mortgage. *Responsibilities :-* · Understand and translate business needs into data models supporting long-term solutions. · Work with the Application Development team to implement data strategies, build data flows and develop conceptual data models. · Create logical and physical data models using best practices to ensure high data quality and reduced redundancy. · Optimize and update logical and physical data models to support new and existing projects. · Maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models along with corresponding metadata. · Develop best practices for standard naming conventions and coding practices to ensure consistency of data models. · Recommend opportunities for reuse of data models in new environments. · Perform reverse engineering of physical data models from databases and SQL scripts. · Evaluate data models and physical databases for variances and discrepancies. · Validate business data objects for accuracy and completeness. · Analyze data-related system integration challenges and propose appropriate solutions. · Develop data models according to company standards. · Guide System Analysts, Engineers, Programmers and others on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces. · Review modifications to existing software to improve efficiency and performance. · Examine new application design and recommend corrections if required *Competencies* :- · Data Architecture and Modeling *Thanks and regards,* *Jyoti Budhwar* United Software Group Inc. 565 Metro Place S.
