Position: .Net Developer Location: Ontario CA Duration: 6+ Months W2 Position POSITION OVERVIEW: Support of organizations in-house and COTS software applications through best practices and standards. Apply proven communication and problem-solving skills to work as a team throughout the software development life cycle. Define, develop, test, analyze, and maintain new or revised software applications and web sites in support of the achievement of business requirements. This includes writing, coding, testing, and analyzing new and existing software programs and applications. RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS: - Participate or lead in the testing of new or revised software programs and applications. - Ensure that applications meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues. - Work with other team members in IT, PMO and the business to translate user requirements into functional and design specifications. - Design and code software solutions based on user functional specifications. - Perform Unit Testing and lead or participate in functional and integrated testing of software throughout various phases of development as needed. - Develop, test, and document new software to support new features and capabilities; will work closely with other developers in a team-oriented environment; and will analyze and resolve problems with existing software. - Write or update technical documentation associated with code development and deployment. - Ability to proficiently program in .Net, including ASP.NET, Visual Basic.NET and/or C#. - Ability to author, manage and test ANSI SQL, T-SQL, Access and PL/SQL queries. - Understanding of database theory and practical application. - Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2008+ administration and design. - Knowledge of SQL Server 2008+ Stored Procedures, Views, Triggers & UDF?s Personal Skills: - Ability to prioritize multiple projects and manage deadlines. - Excellent interpersonal skills. - Excellent oral and written communication skills. - Supports technical and professional capabilities of team members. - Works with little or no supervision and uses independent judgment and discretion. Level of Experience: - 5-8 years of software development. - 2-4 years of experience in programming with Microsoft ASP.Net, C#, Visual Basic.Net, Visual Studio, Subversion, Team Foundation Server and the .Net Framework. - 4+ years of experience with MS SQL Server 2008+ design, use and administration. Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: A successful candidate for this position should have the following skills: - Have 1 year report writing experience (Crystal Reports preferred) - Have 2-4 years desktop and web experience using .NET (VB/C#) Frameworks 2.0-4.6.1 - Have 2-4 years SQL experience (T-SQL preferred, PL-SQL a plus) - Have experience with Javascript. - Have experience with Version Control Systems (SVN preferred, TFS a plus). Duties will include: - Feature changes, new development of Crystal Reports based on user requests. - Feature changes, bug fixes on WinForms desktop applications (VB.Net/C#). - Feature changes, bug fixes on ASP.NET web applications (Sites, WebForms and newer technologies)(VB.NET/C# <http://VB.NET/C>, jQuery, Javascript). - Feature changes, bug fixes on Windows Service applications (VB.Net/C#). - Manage service request and incident tickets as part of production support duties. - Perform technical analysis for Project teams and Customers.
