*Position :: Service Now or SAM Business Analyst* *Initial Duration :: 12 months* Location :: Washington, DC Complete Description SAM Specialist role is to manage and help customers understand and utilize software licenses and agreements. The SAM Specialist will utilize Microsoft best practice, procedures and tools to track and control all software purchases and installations and manage associated software compliance legal and financial risks. Mainly responsible maintaining Microsoft software license agreements, managing Software Assurance Benefits and compliance based on software license right-to-use (RTU) and cloud based software as a service using SNOW software asset management solution. *i. *Detailed Responsibilities Include: a. Analyses purchase records and other entitlement information (including contracts, EULAs, EAs, etc.) using MVL site. b. MUST have experience in managing Microsoft Enterprise Contracts, Microsoft Volume License Management portal and Microsoft subscription based products. c. MUST poses in-depth knowledge of Microsoft licensing structure. d. MUST have experience in Enterprise Project Management. e. Assist in deploying an enterprise wide ITAM / Software Asset Management platform (e.g. SNOW) f. Collects and manages SAM-related information from customers, and software manufacturers. g. Understands Product Use Rights, license allowances, and contractual entitlements for software products and manufacturers. h. In depth knowledge of Microsoft licensing structure with emphasis on subscription model O365 and cloud products. i. Bulk load and update IT software license asset records, software license contracts and software maintenance agreements and associated relationships into the IT asset repository. j. Manage project with customers across the entire SAM life-cycle of. This includes producing and presenting intermediate, analytical, and final results and assuring projects are conducted and closed to the satisfaction of all parties. k. Support OCTO’s ITAM project management activities. l. Ensure all changes to vendor agreements are accurately reflected in SAM as confirmed with License Contract holders. m. Create and update software counters for software titles and licenses and participate in Microsoft SAM engagement and true-up. n. Provide expertise in ensuring that software license contracts and agreements, software licenses and software installations and associated linkages are reflected correctly in the ITAM / Software Asset Management platform repository. o. Provide expertise to ensure that software license records are linked to the correct hardware device. p. Support analysis of new or modified software agreement and maintenance contracts and identifies impact to software counters. q. Provides monthly and quarterly software license compliance status reports to OCTO management and Agency CIO’s. Also process all the software related requests (new requests, changes, upgrades, etc.) from all the DC agencies. r. Review software compliance measures based on existing licensing agreements. s. Understand current utilization and installation of licenses based on RTUfocus. t. Work with Software vendors to renew and true up existing licensing contracts. *ii. *Behavior Characteristics: Must possess good communications and writing skills, be organized, have ability to define and socialize new processes, able to effect change in a dynamic environment, comfortable working at many org levels, & must be team-oriented and performance- oriented.
