MAHATMA GANDHIS BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION AT YOGABHAVAN
Please join us for a celebration of Gandhis birthday on Sunday, October 1st,
2006 at 6:45pm.
Mahatma Gandhi, leader of the India nationalist movement, devoted his life to
gaining independence through a policy of non-violence and religious
integration. One of his often-repeated sayings is You must be the change you
wish to see in the world.
United Nations military advisor Lieutenant General Mehta will give a talk on
Gandhiji. Bawa Jain, General Secretary, World Council of Religious Leaders,
will talk on the principle of ahimsa (non-violence). Nivedita Shivraj,
acclaimed carnatic musician and all India radio star, will play the veena and
sing bhajans. Guru Dileepji, life member of World Yoga Council, will guide a
Zen meditation. We will also celebrate the end of Navaratri.
