An interesting (and perhaps promising) brief discussion of IMDA efforts to work up some metadata availability and display standards for internet radio from the BBC Radiolabs blog.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/radiolabs/20 ... radi.shtml It reminds one that it's still early days for internet radio and that many changes and improvements are yet to come. It would be preferable for current and future devices to be capable of incorporating these via firmware updates; but what would be appear more likely is a robust market for incrementally improved devices as time goes on. As with so many digital electronic devices these days, regular reinvestment by consumers would appear to be required for one to progress with the medium.
