As part of the listener feedback "BBC Global Minds" initiative, the beeb's managing editor of future media, Kelly Shepherd, and Jemma Ahmed, who helped cruch the numbers from an online survey of podcasting, posted the following update:
"From the 5th – 15th of March Kelly Shephard, Managing Editor of BBC World Service Future Media held a web chat with Global Minds to find out more about how you use the BBC’s podcasts. Here’s Kelly: Dear Global Minds, Thank you all for your comments and suggestions. It's so important for us to know what you think and expect of our service. Look out for future discussions on downloading and podcasting - your help is invaluable. Thanks again, Kelly Shephard --- Jemma Ahmed, Insight Executive, who has been analysing the results, would also like to thank you for taking part: Dear Global Minds, We’d like to say a big thank you to all of those who took part in our web chat with Kelly Shepherd, Managing Editor of BBC World Service Future Media, about podcasting on the BBC websites. We had more than 50 responses to this- which is great considering it’s a fairly niche product at the moment! You gave us a lot of useful feedback on the product- among so many valuable responses, you told us that we needed to simplify the process of downloading, make sure that we were clear and consistent as to the availability on podcasts and should make these available as soon as possible after the original programme transmission. A number of you also told us that you’d love to have a Newshour podcast- which Kelly exclusively revealed on Global Minds would be coming soon!! Kelly found the feedback invaluable and is currently reviewing all comments in closer detail, to make sure that moving forward we’re delivering the service to you as best we can! --- As of April 8th a "Newshour" podcast had not yet appeared, but I'll keep an eye out for it.
