All Internet radio appliances I know of can use the Windows Media
format.  Quite often streamers that only offer Flash in their "public
facing" web pages have private MP3 streams that they have worked out
with the main streaming index maintainers (Radiotime, vTuner, Reciva).

This is less of concern than it used to be...but Reciva-based
appliances can digest Real Media in any event.

I might have answered this question differently 6 months ago, but,
thanks to Apple, most streaming providers, to reach the widest
audience, have to have non-Flash solutions -- the iPhone / iPod / iPad
do not play Flash.
