John,
I've been neglecting my earlier habit of listening to "Late Night Live", so I
especially appreciate your reminder and your notice of Phillip Adams'
retirement. He is indeed one of a kind. I used to listen to him on
shortwave(Radio Australia), and I'm very happy I got to meet him in 1999(as you
know), when I was a "musical guest" for one of his shows in the Sydney studio.
The archived shows are certainly a treasure.
My best,
Saul Broudy (W3WHK)

85 year old Phillip Adams, who has hosted the network's iconic program Late
Night Live for over 33 years, has retired. There remains on the
https://www.abc.net.au/listen/programs/latenightlive web site a treasure trove
of past Late Night Live programs and Phillip Adams interviews on any number of
cultural, current events, political, intellectual and literary topics of
worldwide interest. In honor of this occasion, here is a listing of the
programs aired over Phillip?s last week as host. The program continues, but ?
in truth ? there will never be anyone quite like Phillip Adams ? author,
writer, farmer, philosopher, filmmaker ? to ever host it again.]>>>>
