Podcasts permit a shift of listening time from a set appointment to virtually
any convenient occasion. I do it while taking my daily (more or less) 3 mile
walk, while I’m “plodding along”.

While there are thousands, perhaps tens of thousands, of great podcasts from
other sources, the ones sponsored via public radio have been vetted through the
worthy objectives of the medium.

Here’s what I’ve been listening to recently. I hope you might find these
suggestions — in roughly 90 minute bites (225 minutes this one time) --
helpful in enhancing your own enjoyment of radio, our favorite medium.

“Tech Bros and Diplomacy:”
THE FOREIGN DESK - Monocle Radio
How has Elon Musk reshaped political discourse and how much power does he have
compared to the media barons of the past? Andrew Mueller explores the
relationship between technology companies and governments, with David Gilbert
of ‘Wired’, author and technologist Ansgar Baums, disinformation researcher
Heidi Tworek and space-defence expert Clayton Swope. (40”)

“News from Denmark, EU Report, Travel in Denmark”
COPENHAGEN CALLING - Banns Radio International
Julian Isherwood is a name some might recall from the days of the now long
defunct Radio Denmark. He anchored the “News in English" segment that was part
of the station’s daily broadcast in Danish on 15160 kHz if memory serves. He
has produced a half hour program in English weekly since 1998 which appears
only in the schedule of the online World Radio Network. The program is not
available as a podcast but only by listening to it at the times it is streamed
on weekends on the Americas and European feeds. The link to those schedules
appears below. (30”)

"How might Project 2025 shape the future of the US?”
THE INQUIRY - BBC World Service
Project 2025 is a blueprint for the next conservative president of the US. The
think tank behind it, The Heritage Foundation, has published a book, ‘Mandate
for Leadership’. It’s an anthology of ideas that suggest sweeping changes to
federal government, presidential power and US involvement in global affairs.
Mandate for Leadership is a collection of policy ideas, written for any
president to use once in office. Previous Republican administrations have
implemented many of its action points. Project 2025 is divisive. Many see it
as a way to strengthen the US constitution, but others fear it will dismantle
it and invest irreversible power in the president. (23”)
