Podcasts permit a shift of listening time from a set appointment to virtually
any convenient occasion. I do it while taking my daily (more or less) 3 mile
walk, while I’m “plodding along”.

While there are thousands, perhaps tens of thousands, of great podcasts from
other sources, the ones sponsored via public radio have been vetted through the
worthy objectives of the medium.

Here’s what I’ve been listening to recently. I hope you might find these
suggestions — in roughly 90 minute bites -- helpful in enhancing your own
enjoyment of radio, our favorite medium.

"How Wired Magazine is Scooping the Competition. Plus, Whither the Democrats?”
ON THE MEDIA - NPR and WNYC Studios
Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency has accessed sensitive
information at the treasury and gutted the United States Agency for
International Development. On this week’s On the Media, how a tech magazine
scooped mainstream outlets with its reporting on the DOGE taskforce. Plus, at
the Department of Justice, data wipes and mass firings target records of
January 6. (53”)

“Attention and Distraction”
FUTURE TENSE - ABC Radio National
Attention/distraction – two sides of the same coin.
Many of us hate to be distracted, but then again, in the digital age the main
way to get someone’s attention is to distract them away from some other focus.
So how do we embrace the benefits of a world run on the power of
attention/distraction without sending ourselves crazy or constantly diminishing
our ability to get jobs done?
It’s complicated! (29”)
