Job Announcement Visiting Assistant Professor in Jewish Thought Program in Judaic Studies, Brown University Providence, RI (USA) 2006-2008
Brown Universitys Program in Judaic Studies seeks to appoint a Visiting Assistant Professor in Jewish Thought who will hold the position of Hirschfeld Presidential Fellow in Comparative Studies, for the period of July 1, 2006 to June 30, 2008. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. by July 1, 2006, and the Ph.D. must be in Judaic Studies, Religious Studies, Intellectual History, Philosophy, or a related field. The Visiting Assistant Professor will be expected to teach two courses during each semester of the academic years 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 and participate regularly in the intellectual life of the Program and the University as a whole. We seek an active scholar with the ability to offer instruction in Jewish Thought from the Middle Ages through the Modern Period. Scholarship and teaching should include the study of Jewish Thought in relation to other intellectual traditions.
