Call for Papers "Security, Trust and Conflict" Annual Conference Canadian Society for Women in Philosophy (CSWIP) Trent University Peterborough, ON (Canada) 27-29 October 2006
Plenary Speaker: Trudy Govier, University of Lethbridge The theme of the conference is broadly construed and invites papers from diverse areas, including ethics, moral psychology, social and political philosophy, epistemology/metaphysics, philosophy of law, philosophy of emotion, philosophy of medicine and philosophy of science. Possible topics include, but are not limited to: political and economic security, security in the home, security of the body, food security; issues related to war, peace, terrorism, and conflict resolution; trust, distrust and related issues concerning privacy, fear, suspicion, honesty, and integrity; and, medical, social and other forms of surveillance of bodies, individuals and populations. Submission deadline: March 15, 2006 Please submit papers (maximum 3000 words) or long abstracts (1000 words), attached in rtf, pdf, or MSWord format, to Dr. Moira Howes at <[email protected]>. Papers should be prepared for anonymous review. No identifying information should appear in the attached document. Paper title, your name, institutional affiliation, address, and email address should be included in the body of the email. Philosophical papers may be submitted on all topics, but preference will be given to papers on the theme, broadly construed.
