Call for Papers "Beyond the One Drop Rule: Essays on Race and Ethnicity in Global Perspective" Two volumes Published by University Press of America __________________________________________________ The editors of "Beyond the One Drop Rule: Essays on Race and Ethnicity in Global Perspective" a two volume set to be published by University Press of America in 2008 seek contributors for both volumes. This work is intended to bring together a collection of essays on race and ethnicity from multiple disciplinary perspectives within a global context. The focal point of these essays will be "transcending binary notions of race beyond the one-drop rule." Essayists will be asked to address concepts of race with an emphasis on the transnational dimensions of multiraciality and racial categorization worldwide and also how these notions are shaped by the variables of gender, sexuality, class and complexion.
