The 3rd annual Philosophy Graduate Student Conference will
be held February 16-17, 2007 at the University of Memphis,
in Memphis, TN. The purpose of the conference will be to
explore different perspectives on the theme of otherness
within contemporary society. This conference aims to provide
a forum for graduate students to present their ideas
concerning how new perspectives and critical analysis of
otherness can influence views about society and provide new
theoretical and practical possibilities for political theory
and ethical theory. Our hope is to capture a wide array of
interests and perspectives, tapping into multiple areas such
as feminism, race theory, and work in contemporary
applications to politics from both continental and analytic
perspectives.

The Philosophy Graduate Student Conference is sponsored by
The University of Memphis’s Student Activities Council.

Keynote Speaker: Shannon Sullivan, Penn State University
