"Politics, Pluralism and Religion"

Scholars, professionals and community members are invited to
participate in the conference on "Politics, Pluralism and
Religion" to be held at the Minnesota State University,
Mankato on April 13-14, 2007. The conference is jointly
sponsored by the Department of Philosophy of the Minnesota
State University and Society for Indian Philosophy &
Religion.

The program will include plenary addresses, volunteered
papers, invited papers and panel discussions. Please note a
list of suggested topics for the Politics, Pluralism, &
Religion conference: Religious pluralism, influence of
religion on politics, science & religion, religion & human
rights, religion & feminism, citizenship, separation of
church & state, faith & reason, secular reason, religion &
law, civic virtue, religious conviction, secular humanism,
epistemology of religious belief, first amendment, liberty
of conscience, religion & war, liberalism, liberal
democracy, communitarianism, fundamentalism, legal moralism,
religious arguments in the public domain, religion & myth,
religious & political claims about e.g., stem cell research
and gay marriage.

Selected papers from the conference will be published in a
special issue of the Journal of Indian Philosophy &
Religion.
