The Journal of Law & Ethics of Human Rights aspires to
analyze and clarify the concepts of moral and legal rights
and to contribute to the resolution of conflicts within
human rights law. Each issue of the Journal will focus on
one contemporary dilemma that raises major moral and legal
questions. Each such dilemma will be examined using an
interdisciplinary approach to human rights law, an approach
which strives to create associations between legal
provisions and the philosophical thinking underlying them.
Moreover, it is our hope that publishing the work of
distinguished scholars from various countries will mitigate
the problem of culturally insensitive application of human
rights norms.

The inaugural volume focuses on the multi-faceted
relationships between the right to non-discrimination and
the right to preservation of culture. The articles from the
inaugural volume, on the subject of “Multiculturalism and
the Anti-discrimination Principle,” are available in the
journal's website in full text. The second issue of Law &
Ethics of Human Rights (January, 2008) will address the
topic of “Demography and Human Rights” and will examine
legal as well as moral concerns arising from the deployment
of demographic considerations in the formation of public
policy. The third issue (January, 2009) will address the
topic of “Labor Rights in the Era of Globalization.”
