You are invited to submit abstract and papers for an
international conference for celebrating the Centenary of
Satyagraha at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India.
The conference will be inaugurated on 13th, November 2007 at
JNU by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. All the paper
presentations at the conference will be made within the
framework of the following twelve sub themes.

Sub-themes of the Conference:
1.  Sociology of Satyagraha
2.  Science of Satyagraha
3.  Politics of Satyagraha
4.  Philosophical Debates on Satyagraha: Violence,
    Non-violence and Civil Disobedience
5.  Eminent Satyagrahis of the 20th Century: Their methods
    and contributions
6.  Satyagraha and People’s Movements in India in the 20th
    Century
7.  Representation of Satyagraha in Popular Culture: Mass
    Media, Films, Literature and Art
8.  Satyagraha after Gandhi: Global spread of Satyagraha
9.  Globalization, Neo-Imperialism and Satyagraha
10. Racism, Casteism, Communalism & Gender violence and
    Satyagraha
11. Challenges for the Gandhian way in 21st Century:
    Re-discovering Gandhi today
12. Youth of today and the Gandhian way

About the Abstract:
The abstract of the paper (up to 500 words) should be
submitted to the organizing committee on or before 15th
October 2007. Last date for submitting full paper for the
conference is October 30, 2007. The contributors will be
communicated to submit full papers soon after selection of
the abstract. Each abstract should carry the following
details:
a) Title of the paper (abstract to be attached)
b) Sub-theme
c) Present position (describe in detail)
d) Name and complete address including pin code, e-mail,
   telephone
e) Format of the abstract: (Word file, Times New Roman,
   12 size front)

The organizing committee has decided to provide travel
support for the participants.

The abstracts approved by the organizing committee will also
be published in the conference souvenir.
