Conference Announcement "Human Security and Globalization" 4th Edition of the East-West Dialogue Casa Asia Ajuntament de Barcelona Barcelona (Spain) 21-22 November 2007 __________________________________________________ The fourth edition of the East-West Dialogue will take place in Barcelona on the 21st and 22nd of November 2007. The main issue of this fourth East-West Dialogue 2007 is the dimension of human security in globalization. With this fourth edition, the East-West Dialogue continues with its labour in favour of dialogue and understanding between cultures, through its firm commitment with the Alliance of Civilizations. The process of globalization we are in has produced, without a doubt, great opportunities for human beings, but also new challenges. Therefore, it is imperative to find concrete solutions shared by civil society and governments to reinforce human security and world peace. To analyse the dimension fo human security in globalisation, the 2007 East-West Dialogue has organised 4 roundtables: 1. Women Waging War for Peace and Sustainable Development 2. Energy and Democratic Leadership: the Debate on Human Security 3. The Nuclear Debate 4. Migrations and Identities: an Intellectual Eyesight from the East and the West As last year, young people from the East and the West will present their proposals, issued from the two days of closed-door meetings that will be held before the Dialogue at Casa Asia. Once again, the East-West Dialogue is the result of an active collaboration between Casa Asia and several prestigious institutions such as: UNESCO, the Club of Madrid, the CIDOB Foundation, the Three Cultures Foundation and the Association of United Nations for Spain.
