Call for Papers "Understanding Conflicts: Cross-Cultural Perspectives" International Interdisciplinary Research Conference University of Aarhus Aarhus (Denmark) 19-22 August 2008 __________________________________________________ "Understanding Conflicts: Cross-Cultural Perspectives" is an international, interdisciplinary research conference on the diversity of conceptions and cultural images of conflicts. It pursues cross-cultural perspectives on methods of conflict analysis, forms of conflict transformation, and the role of culture and religious worldviews for and in conflicts. We are inviting abstracts for papers in all sessions, including workshops, praxis reports, and short panel sessions. Conference topics: - Conflict Analysis: Reflections on Methods and Theories - Causes and Reasons of Conflict (in cross-cultural perspective) - Conflict Transformation (in cross-cultural perspective) - Conflict and Culture - Conflict and Religion All submissions must be performed electronically at the website of the conference series Cultural Diversity and Conflict Studies. Please note that the full text of all papers based on accepted abstracts are to be submitted in advance and will be posted and accessible to all registered participants of the conference shortly before, during, and one month after the conference. Abstracts will be published on this site and including in the printed conference program. Authors of papers and presentations will be required to sign a release allowing the conference organizers to record their contributions to the conference for later use via the website. The prepublication of conference papers with restricted access shall stimulate research exchanges before and after the conference. All presenters need to be registered at the conference. The conference language is English and all submissions (including additional information) must be in English.
