To strengthen its transcultural and transdisciplinary
research potential, the Heidelberg University Cluster of
Excellence “Asia and Europa in a Global Perspective:
Shifting Asymmetries in Cultural Flows” is looking for an
accomplished scholar of high innovative potential for a
Professorship in Intellectual History with a research focus
on translingual concepts. It is open in rank with tenure or
tenure-track. Details will be found under:

Qualification: proven experience and strong publication
record in researching conceptual flows between Asia and
Europe; English and at least one relevant Asian language;
familiarity with the methods of transcultural and
translingual conceptual history and database development.
Scholars of Asian and European intellectual history
(philosophy, history including the history of social
thought, science, law) are encouraged to apply. The Ph.D.
dissertation must have been completed by the time of
application.

January 25, 2008.
