Job Announcement David and Elaine Potter Lectureship in Human Rights and Governance Department of Politics, University of Cambridge Cambridge (UK) __________________________________________________ Applications are invited for the newly-established David and Elaine Potter Lectureship in Human Rights and Governance, with a particular focus on human rights in Africa, from 1st July 2009 or as soon as possible thereafter. The post will be based in the new Department of Politics and International Studies (POLIS), which is being formed by the union of the Centre of International Studies and the Department of Politics. Applications are welcome from any discipline relevant to the study of human rights and governance. Applicants will be assessed on their capacity and commitment to lead the development of a new Centre of Human Rights and Governance, on their quality and potential as researchers and research supervisors, and on their ability to contribute to teaching for the BA and M.Phil programmes in the Department. Appointments made at University Lecturer level will be for a probationary period of five years, with appointment to the retiring age thereafter. The pensionable scale of stipends for a University Lecturer is currently 34,793-44,074 per annum (pay award pending).
