Call for Papers "National Philosophies under Transmodernism" International Conference Department of Philosophy, Social and Political Sciences, Stefan cel Mare University Suceava (Romania) 9-12 July 2009 __________________________________________________ The Department of Philosophy, Social and Political Sciences of the Stefan cel Mare University of Suceava, Romania, organizes, from july 9 to 12, 2009, the international conference: National philosophies under Transmodernism The conference will have 3 tracks: 1) Roots national philosophies in transmodernism. 2) Negotiating the importance of the national cultures/philosophies in a glocalized world. 3) Noica after Noica an anniversary workshop, to celebrate the centenary of Constantin Noica, one of the most influential Romanian philosophers. The workshop is organized with the full support of the Voronet Monastery (UNESCO World Heritage). Please sent your extended abstracts (900-1200 words), in one of the working languages, until April 30, to: [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] Please clearly indicate the track you are interested in. Based on those abstracts, a scientific committee will select the best papers for presentation (no more than 30 for each of the tracks). After selection, the participants will have to pay the 50 € tax registration, for the Proceedings, the brochure, the program, the website of the event and the translations. University students (undergraduate, graduate, doctoral) will have free registration. The registered participants have to send their full papers until June 15. A special report with the best papers will also be published, after a second selection and reviewing, based on the conferences discussions & debates, in December 2009. Accommodation, food and transportation will be payed by the participants. The working languages of the conference are: English, French, Romanian. The papers will be scheduled for presentation, under the rule of having in a panel, if possible, only papers written in the same language.
