IV Oceanic Conference on International Studies

The University of Auckland and Victoria University of
Wellington are pleased to jointly host OCIS IV in Auckland
in July 2010. The Oceanic Conference on International
Studies (OCIS) builds on the successful legacy of OCIS I-III
in Canberra, Melbourne and Brisbane bringing Oceanias
largest International Relations (IR) and International
Studies conferences across the Tasman for the first time.
OCIS IV will engage with Aucklands and New Zealands
position in the Pacific. The conference will address a wide
range of themes, true to the original objectives of OCIS of
advancing a pluralistic, regional community of international
studies scholars.
Themes to be addressed include:

* International Relations Theory
* Sovereignty and Security Issues
* Global Crises, Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding
* Justice and Rights

* Scholarship, Policy-making, and Activism
* Europe and the World
The conference will take place at the City Campus of The
University of Auckland located in the heart of Auckland.

30 November 2009: Paper abstract, panel, roundtable, and
workshop submissions due
1 February 2010: Proposal acceptance
15 February 2010: Online registration opens
