Call for Papers "Brave New World" Inaugural Asian Conference on Cultural Studies International Academic Forum Osaka (Japan) 23-25 March 2011 __________________________________________________ The International Academic Forum in conjunction with its global partners is proud to announce the Inaugural Asian Conference on Cultural Studies, to be held from March 23-25 2011, at the Ramada Osaka, Osaka, Japan. The Asian Conference on Cultural Studies will offer a rich diversity of academic and cultural activity in the stimulating context of Japan, and in one of the world's great cities. Conference Themes The theme for the conference will be 'Brave New World', and Professor Sue Jackson, conference program adviser for ACCS 2011, has identified the following sub-themes, that are sure to excite interesting interpretations and explorations: - Post/colonial or trans/colonial? - Transformations of self and place - Beyond boundaries? - Difference, diversity, plurality - Cultural re/constructions - Politics and power - Ideologies of culture Keydates Deadline for submission of abstracts: December 1, 2010.
