Call for Papers Diversities Scholarly Online Journal, published by UNESCO ISSN 2079-6595 __________________________________________________ The Max Planck Institute for the Study of Religious and Ethnic Diversity announces the launch of a new journal, "Diversities," a combined effort with UNESCO's social sciences research and policy division. "Diversities" is an on-line journal publishing high quality, peer-reviewed articles concerning multiple forms of diversity. It carries on the work of its predecessor, The International Journal for the Study of Multicultural Societies (IJMS). Established by UNESCO's social sciences research and policy division in 1998, it aims at improving the linkages between academic communities in various regions and across different social science disciplines. One of its particular features is to promote the policy-relevance of social science research in the fields of migration, multicultural policies, and human rights. "Diversities" presents new research on different kinds of social difference - including ethnicity, religion, language, gender, sexuality, disability, social status and age: how these notions are socially constructed, how they unfold in different contexts and how they are addressed in policy and practice. Each issue is devoted to a coherent thematic debate on a key issue in the field of migration and multicultural society. Topics and contributors represent a range of global regions. All articles published in Diversities are refereed in external peer-review. Upcoming Issues: - Depicting Diversities - Female Migration Outcomes: Human Rights Perspectives Scholars interested in pursuing publication in the journal can write to the editors at <[email protected]>, or visit the website at: http://www.unesco.org/shs/diversities Contact: Diversities, Editorial Office Max Planck Institute for the Study of Religious and Ethnic Diversity Department of Socio-Cultural Diversity P.O.
