Call for Papers "Authority, Legitimacy and Rights" 2011 Annual Conference Association of Legal and Social Philosophy (ALSP) University of Warwick Coventry (United Kingdom) 4-6 July 2011 __________________________________________________ Plenary Speakers: Professor Tom Christiano (University of Arizona) Professor Antony Duff (Universities of Minnesota and Stirling) Sub themes: - legitimacy and authority; - human rights; - diversity, pluralism and toleration; - political power and punishment; - environmental justice; - democracy; - property rights; - just war. The conference will bring together political philosophers, lawyers and political scientists whose interests overlap. In particular, we encourage papers that address issues of legal and political philosophy both at the domestic and international level. If you wish to give a paper please email an abstract of no more than 400 words to Dean Machin ([email protected]) by 15 March 2011. Decisions will be made shortly after. Anyone who wishes to make a specific panel proposal should contact Dean Machin directly. There is, though, no expectation or requirement that authors fit their paper to a paticular panel/theme. Residential conference fee: £255 (plus £30 for non-members). The conference fee includes conference dinner. Non-residential fee: £155 (plus £30 for non-members).
