The Second Conference on Applied Interculturality Research (cAIR)
will take place between 22 and 24 of November, 2012 in the Faculty of
Psychology and Sciences of Education of the University of Porto
(FPCEUP), in Portugal, and it will be organized by the Center of
Educational Research and Intervention (CIIE).

cAIR12 is an international conference that intends:

i) To promote the dissemination and the discussion of projects or
initiatives relevant to Education and which are concerned with
issue(s) of interculturality;

ii) To foster and foment collaborations, and the development of
effective cooperation networks, of an international nature, between
researchers in the fields of Education and Interculturality;

iii) To dilute the barrier between "academics" and "practitioners",
promoting research (in Education and in Interculturality) as an
integrated and integrating activity;

iv) To create the opportunities for the discussion of key concepts in
the construction of knowledge about culture, society and education:
multi/inter/transculturality, citizenship, development,
research-action, participation, inclusion, communication, etc.

Recognizing the value added to the reflection, debates and knowledge
on interculturality brought by diverse contributions and experiences,
we invite all those coming from the domains of research and/or
intervention, with practice-based and/or theory-based contributions,
to submit papers to cAIR12: “Interculturality and Education”.

More specifically we welcome papers on the following areas:

- School and Intercultural development
- Human rights, citizenship and intercultural education
- Intercultural and social equity
- Migration and minorities
- Intercultural educational policies
- Other

Important dates to remember:

- Deadline for abstract submission: 14 May 2012
- Notification of acceptance: 2 July 2012
- Early registration: 8 July – 1 September 2012
- Late registration: 2 September – 3 November 2012
- Full papers for conference proceedings: until 30 December 2012
