Systems, thoughts and civilizations go through different evolutionary
stages; they may however face difficulties and decline, compelling
their scholars to search for ideal ways of renewal and revival. It is
possible for the historian to discover the different factors
influencing the nations’ revival and civilizational renewal or even
their decline. And perhaps divinely-based civilizational changing
construct constitutes the objective conception leading to the
foundation of global human civilization aiming at people’s welfare
and achievement of various hopes and ambitions.
Starting from the necessity of reviewing the conception of
civilizational phenomenon and the factors affecting it and developing
awareness thereof for the sake of the truth, success of both social
constructive action and civilzational change based on
future-oriented-perspective.
The Faculty of Social and Islamic Sciences, African University of
Adrar, organizes an international conference on "Civilizational
Change: Challenges and Perspectives". The main questions of the
conference are:
- What are divinely-based rules in civilizational change?
- What are the factors and conditions of revival and expansion of
nations and civilizations?
- What are the internal and external obstacles?
- How to overcome them with a view to building a better future for
humanity?
These questions will be debated according to the following themes:
Theme 1: Theoretical approaches to civilizational change
Theme 2: Divinely-based civilizational change among scholars and
thinkers
Theme 3: Mechanisms for civilizational change: practical models
Theme 4: Challenges and obstacles of civilizational change from a
future reform- based perspective

- The conference organizers will provide free accommodation,
breakfast and lunch, and ground transportation for the participants.
- The Conference will take place from 18th to 20th November 2012, at
the African University of Adrar, Algeria.
