The Centre for Law and Cosmopolitan Values, University of Antwerp
(www.lcv.ua.ac.be) is seeking to fill the post of a pre-doctoral
researcher for a project on ‘Interpretation, Concepts and the Law’

Description:

The fellow will work towards a doctoral thesis (PhD) and will be
situated within the Law and Philosophy Programme of the Centre for
Law and Cosmopolitan Values (http://www.lcv.ua.ac.be), University of
Antwerp (Belgium). The position is funded by a research project of
the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO) on ‘Interpretation, Concepts
and the Law’ and will aim for interdisciplinary research in the
domains of legal philosophy, normative ethics and meta-ethics. The
PhD is supervised by the project’s grant-holders: Prof George
Pavlakos and Dr Katrien Schaubroeck.

Profile:
- a master’s degree in law and/or philosophy
- ability to conduct interdisciplinary research in the domains of
  legal philosophy, normative ethics and meta-ethics.
- any prior research experience, record of publications or other
  proof of strong analytical skills will be taken into account
- excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  Additional knowledge of French or German is desirable.

We offer:
- a full-time position as a pre-doctoral fellow for 3 years, with
  possibility of renewal for one further year (salary: approx. €1.950
  net/month). The expected date of appointment is the academic year
  2012-2013 or as soon as possible after that date.
- The fellow will be involved in the editorial team of the
  prestigious review of legal and political philosophy JURISPRUDENCE
  (http://www.hartjournals.co.uk/jurisprudence/).
