It is a great pleasure to invite you to the Tradition Conference
2013, hosted by The University of Notre Dame Australia, with generous
support from the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney. The conference aims
to bring together prominent national and international scholars in
Philosophy and Theology to explore 'Tradition' in its multiple forms.

There is no more Catholic word than 'Tradition'. With a capital-T,
the word indicates one of the two sources of God's revelation to us;
lower case, it denotes accepted and desirable patterns of thought and
ways of life. Meanwhile, people argue about which are 'our'
traditions, how we must respond to the traditions of others and
whether tradition is a good idea at all.

This International Conference will explore four key ideas:
- The concept of Tradition in Catholic thought
- How Tradition relates to the many traditions that contribute to
  the faith
- How tradition can guide and explain human relationships
- Whether tradition is a defensible and valuable concept
