Call for Papers Theme: Humanities and Knowledge Subtitle: Philosophy, Literature and Language Type: International Conference Institution: Council for Research in Values and Philosophy (RVP) People's Friendship University of Russia (PFU) Location: Moscow (Russia) Date: 25.–26.4.2013 Deadline: 15.4.2013 __________________________________________________ The conference will constitute a general discussion on philosophical and philological issues from an interdisciplinary perspective, with some methodological issues. The disciplinary range of the conference will be extended to involve interested specialists from different studies: linguists, philologists, philosophers and specialists in other related fields. The main objectives of this conference are: the elaboration of scientific and cultural dialogue among the researchers of Philosophy and Philology, communication between Russian and foreign researchers to provide an open area for the discussion and exchange of opinions on fundamental research problems. The conference will seek to explore the role of language in the philosophical cultures of the East, Russia and the West. In particular it will search for ways to understand different language cultures and the philosophical foundations of translation. A point of special interest will be the integration of philosophy and literature in different cultures, especially in classical Russian culture. Papers are invited for the following sessions: - Philosophy of translation: philosophical foundations for interpretation of different language cultures - Problems of translation of oriental philosophical texts - Philosophy and philology: aspects of interaction - The integration of philosophy and literature in the classical Russian culture - Language as means of communication: philosophical aspects The working languages are Russian, English. A one page abstract should be submitted by April 15, 2013 to Dr. Ruzana Pskhu <[email protected]> and <[email protected]>. Presentation of accepted papers will be 25 minutes in length followed by 10 minutes discussion. Full papers for which there is no upper page limit will be due by July 1, 2013, for publication both in Russian and in English. Number of participants will be around 25. All travel expenses and accommodation will be covered by participants (or their institutions); lunch/dinner will be covered by PFU; visa support will be provided by PFU.
